Exploring Harmony in Duality

“I am Sepehr Asadi, and this curated selection of my academic and professional works centers around a theme I call Exploring Harmony in Duality. This theme highlights the central role of coexistence among contrasting forces, which I have examined through my recent projects. Though each project has its own unique identity, the concept of dualities creates a connective thread, weaving them into a cohesive narrative.

In my view, every project is shaped by a complex array of forces—some that harmonize, others that create tension. The architect’s role, as I see it, is to identify, emphasize, and balance these forces to create compositions that resonate. Whether rooted in natural or human influences, these forces reveal themselves as moments of attraction and repulsion within a location’s or a project’s characteristics. My goal as an architect is to excavate, and harmonize dualities, to give meaning and mystery to the mundane inhabited space. Since 2021, I have consciously integrated this interplay of dualities into my work, as a reflection of the complexity, richness, and mystery of the spaces we inhabit.”
